Papa Guppy The squid ink pasta was not just satisfying to one’s tastebuds, but it was extremely fun and enjoyable to have together with friends and family - laughing at and taking photos of each other’s black stained teeth and mouths, having fun with a treasure hunt for the many bits of juicy tasty seafood  such as scallop, squid, prawns.. in the dish ( they all are look alike when covered with the black squid ink.). Will be coming back again and again and again…

Squid Ink Pasta @ Pasta Brava - A Hungry Guppies Favourite

I was introduced to squid ink pasta a long time ago, but it was only after I have tasted the version at Pasta Brava that I became a die-hard fan. And then being papa guppy, it is my natural instinct to then gather my baby guppies and introduce them to it as well. It has since become a favourite for many hungry guppies whenever there is an excuse for a celebration or a need for comforting through food therapy :-).

Even for those who prefer Chinese/Asian cuisines over Western cuisines, this squid ink pasta from Pasta Brava will still more than satisfy and even possibly tintillate the tastebuds as it can almost be regarded as an ‘ang moh’ version of our favourite mee pok or hokkien fried prawn mee haha - savoury, carbo filled and full of tasty bits of seafood. It has been tested and proven - we have brought many die-hard Chinese cuisine lovers to try this and many have come away very very happy or at least not complaining.

The totally ‘unglam’ and messy way of eating this, with black ink covering one’s teeth and mouth and the almost frantic way that waiters scramble in double quick time to replace your cloth napkin with synthetic ones ( to protect against irreparable staining ) whenever you order squid ink pasta adds to the whole enjoyable experience.

For those who are out to impress your dates - I say go for it, go against conventional wisdom and order this. Your date will certainly be impressed by your willingness to show your totally ‘unglam’ and hence real self! Hehe… try it !!

Give-me-rice Guppy says: If papa guppy agrees to bring me here more often for the squid ink pasta, I am willing change my name to ‘Give-me-pasta Guppy’! I don’t know whether it is the taste that I like or the fun I have eating it, having my teeth and mouth all disgusting black with squid ink when I am eating it – wonderful!

Missy Guppy says: It is so squid inky!! I like it partly because it makes my mouth so wonderfully black :). It makes me feel like a monster :O. I also like it because of the squid inky taste… the thought of it makes me drool!!

Spicy Guppy says: I was not too sure when papa guppy wanted to bring me to try this. It did not look too appealing but I gave in when papa guppy raved about it. It was surprisingly savoury and has enough flavour in it to satisfy my spice hungry taste buds. I have since recommended this to friends who have in turn recommended to their friends and they to their friends… hmmm… think Pasta Brava should be giving me special treatment or discounts when I am there next hehee….
